Biosense Review

Biosense Hair Care Review

I’m about to be honest, I’m almost 25 and I’ve never figured out a hair routine that works for me. I have thick, straight hair that’s really oily, so conditioners, oils or leave in treatments have never worked for me. At all.

For those of you that follow me on the regular, you’d know that I had quite the hair adventure this year. I went from a pixie cut last year to a bob this year that I bleached 3 times, added blue, then pink, then purple and topped with some grey. I have no regrets! I had such fun with it, and I love my new pixie cut now. But unfortunately, with all that ‘fun’, my hair went through the most.

My hair has been dry and breaking insanely for the last few months, and none of the treatments I tried worked.

Biosense SA was kind enough to send me a little package of the products to try, and I was really excited for the shampoo, but very apprehensive of the conditioner and treatments, due to my lack of success with these products from previous brands. These are my thoughts:

Anyone who’s bleached their hair knows how much you need a good silver shampoo. This was actually the first one I ever tried that really toned my hair, which is a relief because adding toner to my hair all the time, in spite of my silver shampoo was such a pain.

Biosense Color Seal Silver Shampoo

This shampoo is enriched with Mongongo oil and protects against UV damage, which is a huge plus in sunny Durban!

My only negative is that I feel like the shampoo doesn’t lather as much as I like, but that’s really dependent on preference, as I prefer a really good lather.

The Hydrating Conditioner is out of this world! No, seriously. It’s lighter than most conditioners in texture, but still hydrates the hair without weighing it down, which is such a plus for me, considering my oily scalp. I love using it everyday, and it leaves my hair smelling amazing!

I was also sent the DNA Aftershock Moisture, which is infused with Watermelon Seed Oil. The smell is mouthwatering! This treatment is specifically for dehydrated hair, and claims to strengthen and repair hair, but I didn’t have high hopes, because let’s be real, that’s what every hair product claims to do. This treatment delivered! I felt the change in my hair immediately after using it and my breakage lessened substantially, which is awesome to me! My only negative comment on this treatment is the time factor. You’re supposed to add it to your hair after shampooing and leave on for ten minutes before washing off, but as someone with a pretty full schedule, I don’t always have that time.

Lastly, I was sent the Ultimate 12-in-1 treatment that’s enriched with Baobab. I have to admit, this was what I was most apprehensive about trying, because I’ve always had terrible luck with any leave in treatment, and let’s be real, I’m not out here to be walking around with an oily pixie cut. Nah. But I decided to take a chance, so I could honestly review the product, and I’ve been using it everyday since. My hair has more life than ever, and the treatment does not weigh it down in any way at all.

In closing, these products would get a solid 8.5/10 for me. Not because I received them as a freebie, but because I tried them solidly for nearly 2 weeks, and they work. No product is perfect, but this came quite close for me!

Have you tried Biosense before? What other hair products are you loving? Let me know in the comments below!

All my love,
