Hey guys! I know I’ve been a bit quiet on the blog front lately, but it’s been a real time of reflection and change for me.
These last few weeks, I’ve come close multiple times to just giving up on Princess Warrior: The Blog, simply because it’s not where I’d like it to be. Thoughts such as; maybe I just don’t have the look of a blogger, or perhaps what I’m doing is aimless, crossed my mind constantly. Being surrounded by hugely successful bloggers can be a great learning experience, but it can also be hard on the soul at times. Comparing yourself to the fellow blogger becomes inevitable.
After a lot of reflection and awful thoughts and feelings, it occurred to me that I had completely lost sight of what this blog was meant to be. For those of you that followed me on my previous blog, you would see the vast difference in my content in the past year. While I was once an honest, soul baring voice, I’d become generic and played it safe with tons of guest posts and general things.
While this is fine for many bloggers, I realized that I’d lost my voice along the way. Princess Warrior was created as a place of honesty dedicated to those who shared similar experiences of depression, bullying and just feeling low in life. When I started this blog, it was to share the voice I’m often too afraid to share in real life. Princess Warrior was my heart poured out and my mind exposed for all to see and hopefully relate.
Followers and views were not in any way the initial aim of this blog, and I’ve truly lost sight of that this past year.
The reason I share all this with you is a reminder to always remember your voice. Don’t forget that you have a journey to share that could help thousands. Or maybe just one. And that’s perfectly ok too. Helping just one is enough.
So from now on, while I will still share some of the other features such as Book Club and the Getting To Know You Series, I’m also taking this blog back to it’s roots and that’s sharing my thoughts, successes, failures and lessons.
Lastly, thank you to my faithful readers. Princess Warrior: The Blog has been such a journey and I’m so glad to have you along. I can’t wait to see where we go from here!
All my love,
